Emily Stedman’s sixth exhibition at NOHO M55 Gallery “Eros Re-Visited” is a comprehensive installation of over twenty-five watercolor paintings drawn from more than two decades of making paintings of erotic relationships from a female perspective.
Emily Stedman is a New York City-based artist whose oil and watercolor paintings explore narrative, memory, and place. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across the United States, with highlights including the Brooklyn Museum, The Rotunda Gallery in Brooklyn, and Historic Northampton Museum in Massachusetts. Her art can also be found in numerous public and private collections nationwide.
In addition to traditional gallery settings, Stedman’s creative practice extends into public spaces—she served as Painter-in-Residence at Bryant Park in New York City and a commissioned mural for the City of Yonkers. Most recently, she was awarded a Su-Casa residency through the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, continuing her engagement with community through art.
Emily Stedman holds a B.F.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University and an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute.
